Timothy Gideon

Timothy Allen Gideon, 67, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023 in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, China.

Tim was born in Springfield, Ill. on August 18,1956 to Robert and Lucy (Cook) Gideon.
He attended Mt. Auburn schools all twelve years and graduated from Mt. Auburn High School in 1974. He received his Bachelors in Engineering from Millikin University in 1978. He later went on to receive his Masters in Civil Engineering from University of Illinois Springfield. He also was proud of his patents. Tim had a long career as an engineer and worked at Borg Warner, Mud Hog, and Rowe Truck Equipment before accepting a position that would have him
traveling to China.

Tim married his High School sweetheart Kathy (Elder) Crumly and they were married for 30 years. They had two children that he leaves behind, Jared Gideon (Susha) of Lafayette, Ind. and Jenna (Gideon) Hannah (Jeffrey) of Rock Hill, S.C. He later remarried his love and current wife Joyce, and they have a young daughter named
Jasmine whom he adored.

Tim was living his life to his fullest on his farm in China. He was always building amazing wood pieces and furniture. He enjoyed being outside and being around his many animals. Tim loved to travel and one of his favorite destinations was Africa. He thrived on supporting his children in all of their endeavors of sports, working on cars, and horseback riding.

Additional family he leaves behind includes his parents Robert and Lucy Gideon of Mechanicsburg, Ill. and brothers Dennis Gideon (Susan) of Rochester, Ill. and Christopher Gideon (Naome) of Mechanicsburg, Ill. along with his sister Kathy Lebshier (Michael) of Mechanicsburg, Ill. and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his four grandchildren Sofia and Dalton Hannah and Joanna and Juliette Gideon.

A family memorial will be held at a future date.
