KINCAID– The village of Kincaid met Monday night to discuss raising the deposit on water services for rental and commercial properties.
Water fees for commercial and rental properties will be raised to a flat $300 fee. For rental properties, the board discussed allowing a payment plan where the fee would be split into two $150 payments.
Previously, the fee to connect to a new water service was $50 for commercial properties and $150 for rental properties. The fees changed due to citizens moving without paying their water bill, leaving the city with an outstanding payment.
The change in fees passed without objection.
The board also discussed a change to the village ordinance on four wheelers being driven in town.
The ordinance was changed to have those in possession of a four wheeler to place the registration sticker in the middle of an orange emblem on the back of the four wheeler so officers would be able to see better.
A motion was passed and approved without objections.
Also approved on the agenda was adding a dollar cellular surcharge onto city water bills and changing the verbiage on the ordinance for non-payment of water bills to be more concise.
A special meeting to discuss the pros and cons of the annexation of Jeisyville will take place on November 20 at 6:00 p.m in City Hall.
The next regular city council meeting will be held at city hall on December 11 at 6:00 p.m.
