TAYLORVILLE—Members of Davis Memorial Church, Kay Brewer (left) and Kathy Sullivan (right), help prepare and serve food during the Celebrate Recovery Thanksgiving dinner Tuesday night at the Davis Memorial Church. Alicia “Jill” Gilbert and Kimberly Brune, organizers of the event, said they started the dinner to provide recovering addicts a support group and to thank those who have donated throughout the year. “We all have something, really, we all have something,” Brune said. She added: “Once you’ve been in recovery for a while, and you can reach out to others it’s really rewarding.” Celebrate Recovery is a group within Davis Memorial Church to provide addicts and recovering addicts a support group in the community. This is the second annual Celebrate Recovery dinner that has been hosted, roughly 90 people attended the Thanksgiving dinner.
