Alicia “Jill” Gilbert and Kimberly Brune, organizers of the event, said they started the dinner to provide recovering addicts a support group and to thank those who have donated throughout the year. “We all have something, really, we all have something,” Brune said. She added: “Once you’ve been in recovery for a while, and you can reach out to others it’s really rewarding.” Celebrate Recovery is a group within Davis Memorial Church to provide addicts and recovering addicts a support group in the community. This is the second annual Celebrate Recovery dinner that has been hosted, roughly 90 people attended the Thanksgiving dinner.
