For the fifth consecutive year, First Baptist Stonington and Old Stonington Baptist Church partnered together for Operation Christmas Child; packing shoeboxes with gifts for children outside of the United States.
Pastor Scott Parks, right, who pastors both congregations said, “Once again these two churches responded so generously to allow us to pack 162 shoe boxes total, and the craziest part was that both churches packed the same number of shoe boxes, with each church doing 81 shoe boxes each! What are the odds of that?”
Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse and provides the shoe box Christmas Gifts along with a 12-week lesson telling the children about God’s love for them through Jesus Christ. Pastor Parks said, “I can’t think of a better way for our two churches to be about the business of sharing the gospel with children than through these shoe box gifts.”
