(TAYLORVILLE) — A group of community stakeholders is being sought to help with the decision on who will become the next Taylorville School Superintendent. In a letter sent to various staff members, families and community members dated Nov. 27, 2023, the Taylorville School Board is requesting volunteers to take part in the final interview portion of the search to be held on Thursday, Dec. 7, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.
There are apparently two semifinalists for the position. The interview process, being conducted by Dr. Patricia Viniard, director of the Illinois School Board Association’s executive searches, will conduct the interviews along with school board members as well as community members.
It will be held at the North Elementary School, 805 N. Cherokee St. Before volunteering, you are asked to be certain you can be available from 4:00-6:30 p.m. on Dec. 7. A late arrival or early departure would be a distraction and could compromise the integrity of the process.
Anyone interested in helping out should request and fill out information by 12:00 noon, Friday, Dec. 1, by emailing email@example.com. Persons will be asked to submit their name, position/stakeholder group, email address, cell phone number and any questions you would suggest to be asked of the potential candidates. All questions will be considered, but necessarily utilized.
If someone represents more than one key area, you should list all areas you represent, such as district employee, parent or community member.
Those selected will get an email from Dr. Viniard about the opportunity, including where and when to report that evening.
It is expected the school board could make a final decision on the next superintendent in December or January.
