SPRINGFIELD – The Animal Protective League (APL), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting ill, injured and abandoned homeless animals, will be holding its annual Giving Tree donation drive from November 24 until December 31, 2023. You can make a difference in an animal’s life this holiday season by donating during the month of APL’s Giving Tree. All donations received will support animals, both in our shelter and our community! Forty businesses throughout Springfield will be showing their support for the Animal Protective League by hosting an APL Giving Tree at their location. Each Giving Tree will have ornaments featuring previously adopted or current animals available for adoption and items from our wish list on the reverse side. Donors pick an ornament and purchase the item listed, then place both ornament and item in the collection box at the location where the ornament was selected. Donated items may also be dropped off at APL offices located at 1001 Taintor Road, Springfield, 62702. For a list of Giving Tree participating businesses visit our website, www.apl-shelter.org. For those who prefer to shop online, you can find more information about items on the APL Wish List and links to online retailers at https://www.apl-shelter.org/wish-list. APL’s shelter at 1001 Taintor Road in Springfield is open every day from noon to 5 p.m. for adoptions. For additional information on adoptions, volunteering or making a donation, call the Animal Protective League at 544-PETS (7387) or check the group’s web site at www.apl-shelter.org.
