The Christian County Historical Society and Museum is hosting the Persimmon Bake-off. There will be two divisions; Adults; twelve and under. The categories being judged are; cookies; bread; most creative. Baked goods must be prepared within 24 hours of the exhibit and please bring the recipe. The judging for the bake-off will be at 1 p.m. Persimmon cookbooks and pulp will be for sale in the museum. State quilt raffle drawing will be at 2 p.m. Jean Callan’s famous BBQ sandwich meal will be sold for $8. These meetings provide a safe space for adults to express feelings of grief and mourning over the death of a loved one. Participants may discuss and share thoughts and emotions surrounding loss; explore healthy coping strategies; self-care; receive support from others. The group meets the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Meetings are held in Conference Room 1222, located near the south entrance of the hospital at 201 E.
