Join the Family Beekeepers of Illinois during our monthly meeting at the Christian County Extension Center. No experience is necessary and all ages and backgrounds are welcome. Come, bee social and ask questions and learn from our education presentations.

The Manner’s Park Pool is once again offering Water Zumba every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 – 6:45 p.m. Pay when you attend the classes.

Farmer’s Market

The annual Farmer’s Market will be every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon on the Taylorville Square. There will be early produce, bedding plants, fresh flowers, baked goods, and craft items. Check out DowntownTaylorville on Facebook for more information.

Jamie Tolley will be at the Tower Hill Free Methodist Church 207 Erie St. on Saturday, June 4th at 5 p.m. Jamie Tolley lives in Ripley, WV with his wife and sons, Austin, Jordan and Ryan, and daughter, Lauren. He grew up in West Virginia surrounded by country and bluegrass music. He has played in other groups. Dobro, rhythm guitar and assisted with backup vocals. Son Austin plays piano/keyboard, bass guitar, ukulele and harmonica. Jordan plays the banjo with the younger brother Ryan playing guitar. Rachel and their daughter Lauren also sing some songs as well. For more information contact Sue at 217-836-6285.

Center HCE Meeting

Center HCE meeting will meet on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Christian Co. Extension Office. Roll call will answer to “Are you planning a summer vacation?” Delores Hunt and Sharon Turner will give the lesson on ” Wildflowers and Butterflies.” Members will make the final plans for the Fun Day event. Barbara McKinney and Dorris Schroyer are the Hostesses for the meeting. The next Center HCE meeting will be in September.

Join us in helping Taylorville homeowners with small home improvement jobs. People with all skill levels are welcome. Homeowner and Volunteer applications are available at missionsfortaylorville.org.

First United Methodist (FUMC), St. Mary’s, Davis Memorial and First Presbyterian will be hosting their Vacation Bible Study (VBS) June 13 through June 16 at Davis Memorial. Pre-register by calling FUMC (217-824-2782), St. Mary’s (217-824-8178), Davis Memorial (218-824-8181) or First Presbyterian (217-824-2253). The Christian County Historical Society will host the first two Taylorville Municipal Band concerts at its campus located at 254 Abe’s Way in Taylorville. These concerts are scheduled for Wednesday, June 22 and 29, beginning at 7:00 pm. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for enjoyable old-fashioned summer evening concerts on the museum lawn. Call the museum at 217-824-6922 for more information.

Victory Boys Quartet from Marion, IL will be presenting a southern gospel concert at United in Faith Church, 609 Fairgrounds Rd. Pana on Sunday, June 26 at 5:00 p.m. Please join us for an evening of toe tappin to soul searching music. When one leaves the concert the quartet wants each person to feel spiritually uplifted. A love offering will be taken.
