United in Faith Church presents “The Best of Southern Gospel” with the Wanda Mountain Boys. Enjoy smooth harmonies, solid vocals, and a powerful, straightforward message. The Wanda mountain boys travel many miles singing traditional Southern gospel music.

The Common Cup senior coffee at Edinburg Methodist Church meets every Wednesday of the month from 8 to 10 am. It is nondenominational—just free coffee and treats. Taylorville Moose Lodge will be hosting a Smoke’n Aces poker tournament. You must be 21 years old to play. There will be prizes, ways to earn bonus chips and more. This is a no cost four week league of Texas Hold’em poker tournament for more information visit smokenacespoker.com. Sign-in is at 6:30 p.m., and the game at 7:15 p.m.

Be inspired to grow houseplants at “Success with Indoor Plants at Taylorville Public Library.” Andrew Holsinger, Extension horticulture educator, will detail how to create a healthy houseplant environment by selecting the right plants for your indoor space and discuss cultural requirements, maintenance practices, and critical ornamental aspects in growing interior plants. Community members who have experienced the death of a family member or friend are invited to register for the GriefShare program held at Calvary Baptist Church, Taylorville. Sessions run from 6 pm to 8 pm in the Upper Room of Calvary Baptist Church at 930 Haner Avenue, Taylorville.  To register or for questions, call the church office 217-824-2324 or by email at calvary@cbctaylorville.com, There is no fee for attendance which will include a workbook and light refreshments.

The Taylorville American Legion 73 is hosting a Queen of Hearts drawing every Thursday at 8:00 p.m. 

Healthy Kids Day at the Christian County YMCA. The event is free to the public, bike giveaway at 10:45 a.m. Various vendors focusing on the health and safety of children will be displayed at the event.
