    Taylorville Moose Lodge will be hosting a Smoke’n Aces poker tournament. You must be 21 years old to play. There will be prizes, ways to earn bonus chips and more. This is a no cost four week league of Texas Hold’em poker tournament for more information visit smokenacespoker.com. Sign-in is at 6:30 p.m., and the game at 7:15 p.m.

    Community members who have experienced the death of a family member or friend are invited to register for the GriefShare program held at Calvary Baptist Church, Taylorville. Sessions run from 6 pm to 8 pm in the Upper Room of Calvary Baptist Church at 930 Haner Avenue, Taylorville.  To register or for questions, call the church office 217-824-2324 or by email at calvary@cbctaylorville.com, There is no fee for attendance which will include a workbook and light refreshments.

    Summer Repertory Theatre in Carlinville is pleased to announce open auditions for the July 2023 production, The Addams Family. Auditions will be held at Carlinville United Methodist Church at 201 South Broad, Carlinville. Those who wish to audition must be at least 7 years old. There is no other age restriction. A parent or guardian must accompany children for written permission and audition forms. Audition dates and times are Friday, April 14, from 5 to 8 PM and Saturday, April 15, from 11 AM to 4 PM. Callbacks are Sunday, April 16, at 1 PM. Auditions require singing music of your choice, or prepared music will be provided.     Lincoln Trail homestead journaling at the Railsplitter Pavilion

    Our popular nature journaling class returns to recording what you see, Use watercolors, paper, and brushes to hear, smell, and feel nature. We will discuss various ways to record your observations and experiment with drawing the signs of spring in the park. Please bring your journal and materials or use ours. The park is about 10 miles straight west of Decatur. Take Old Route 36 past Harristown to Lincoln Memorial Parkway; go south four miles. The park is on the east side of the road.
