    Down to Earth Sustainability will host their first sustainable candle-fill event. They will be using vintage, upcycled glassware and more as their vessels. Each vessel will have a price marked on it. Choose one you love and customize your scent to create your custom candle. Then, when your candle is out, please bring it back to our next event for a refill or use your container. Candles typically take around 30 minutes to cool. Feel free to enjoy our late-night shopping hours, visit the Downtown Taylorville Car Cruise, or shop at other stores and return when your candle has hardened. Prices will start at range from $8 to $20.

Open auditions will be 6 to 8 p.m. September 5 and 6 at Theatre 7, 131 N. Water St., Decatur. If needed, callbacks will be on September 7. Auditions for this classic holiday movie turned musical are open to youth ages eight and older and adults. The audition will include a cold read of the script, a vocal audition, and a dance segment. Actors should bring a track to play or sheet music for the pianist. A brief dance segment will be taught at the audition. A show description and character list are available at stageagent.com/shows. Audition forms will be available at Theatre 7 but can also be filled out in advance at www.theatre7.org/auditions.

    Minors will need an adult’s signature. Actors should bring their calendars to provide any rehearsal schedule conflicts. Rehearsals will be on weekdays from 6 to 8 p.m. starting in September. The show will be held December 9, 10, and 15-17 at the Decatur Civic Center. Tickets will be available for purchase starting in September at decaturciviccenter.org.
