The Historical Society of Montgomery County will host historian Kevin Kaegey from the Bond County Historical Society of Greenville at the Challacombe House. Kaegey will speak about Abraham Lincoln’s legal cases in the 8th Circuit Court in central Illinois. Abraham Lincoln, who practiced law for nearly 25 years, and was a general practice attorney, handled a variety of civil and criminal actions, including debt, slander, divorce, dower, partition, mortgage, foreclosure, and murder. Refreshments will be served during the event. The event is open and free to the public. Donations will be utilized to continue work on the Montgomery County Museum and Historic Harkey House.
