What is the justification for the increase in salary for the Street Superintendent?? I would like the City Council to tell us this, since no road repair has or is being done in the city.

    Very nice website.

Myself and many others on Houston Street would like to thank the Taylorville Police Department for raiding this house that has been a nuisance for many months. We have complained to the Sheriff’s office about that house for months. We would like to see more presence from police in our area. I remember many years ago about annexing Hewettville and Taylorville. I believe this might be the best solution to help our little area become more safe.

I’m really scared for American people. With the government giving out $300 to the unemployed, people don’t want to go back to work until that runs out. Our businesses cant survive with out help. Don’t people understand that with 100’s of people coming into America each day that they will take your jobs away and when they are ready to go back to work, their jobs may not be there. I’m a senior citizen, if my health would allow it, I would love to take a part time job and probably make more that I used to at a full time job. I hoping and praying that the working people wake up and see what is happening.

Why does it seem like the school district and the current school board members are hiding things, and afraid to answer questions? Kudo’s to you Brenda Patrick for standing up and asking questions. We need more board members like you. I’m glad I voted for you, keep up the good work.

Once again, another speak out about this supposed stolen election. The election was certified by Democrats and Republicans alike. You are therefore suggesting that somehow Republican officials also had something to do with your continued lie of stealing an election. There have been sporadic instances of fraud which have been and will be continued to be prosecuted, but millions of votes? Stop it.

My vote is yes for keeping Speak-Out. Speak-Out started to be community oriented. However, it Vered of in many other directions manly Politics. I think that Speak-Out needs to return to it’s roots. I think that the people who are complaining about Speak-Out and day that it needs to be gotten rid of needs to send in Speak-Out articles that are community oriented so they can be printed. To all of the people who write all of those articles that are not community oriented. Let’s get back to the basics. Save the Speak-Out.

Thank you for publishing the article “Legends of the Midwest: The Lindvahl Story.” How wonderful that they were invited to the Reds game and that Mr. Lindvahl had the opportunity to throw out the first pitch! I knew Craig, Mark, and, of course, Ron Lindvahl. Their positive influence deeply affected the lives of so many students and friends here in Taylorville, and so many of us were blessed to be both students and friends. Craig will always be remembered as someone who truly made a difference in the world, and so have each of the Lindvahls. We were very fortunate to have had them in our community. Thank you, Lindvahl family, for your years of dedication! We remember!

Why is it not surprising that everyone I talk to are happy that the superintendent is leaving? She started the project at the High School with no plan in site to finish. Guess she is getting out while the getting is good. Thank for leaving a mess at the high school.

You would think the school board would hold the superintendent accountable for the mess she has created at the high school. She started a project and just up and quits. What does that say about her accountability. Good riddance to her. The school board shouldn’t give her a good reference on her next position. She even messed up all the ladies in the office.
