The Central A&M FFA traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana to attend the 95th National FFA Convention and Expo. The top ten members with the most FFA activity points had the opportunity to attend this year’s convention. Tanner Etherton; Gracie Cowger; Neelie Gaither; Samantha Hazelwonder; Karsyn Andricks; Laynee Dunakey; Lilly Price; Myleigh Sieben; Kamdyn Durbin; Adyson Lowrance, began their trip on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. During the trip we were able to tour Not Just Popcorn and the National FFA Center which were both great experiences. We had the opportunity to hear motivational speaker, Tamika Catchings, as well as many inspirational retiring addresses delivered by the National FFA Officer Team.
In the evenings, members had a chance to relax, have some fun, and make a lot of memories. Wednesday evening, students had the chance to go to a Lauren Alaina and Jimmie Allen concert held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The concert was great. On Thursday evening, members attended the National FFA Rodeo at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
On Friday evening, we attended a hypnotist show where we laughed a lot and had a great time.
In between sessions, members had the opportunity to attend one of the largest career shows and talk to numerous agriculture company representatives as well as college representatives. This is a great way for members to do their own networking and make connections with those who may have a hand in their future. Members were also able to do some shopping at the FFA Shopping Mall!
A highlight of our convention was getting to see Hunter Mott receive his American FFA Degree. This is the highest degree bestowed upon a member. We are very proud of the hard work and dedication that was needed to obtain this degree!
All in all, members had a great trip, full of many lifelong memories and lessons. We are so thankful for a supportive administration and school board who allows us to attend this convention every year.
