INDIANAPOLIS — The Central A&M FFA traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana, to attend the 96th National FFA Convention and Expo. The top 11 members with the most FFA activity points had the opportunity to attend this year’s convention. Samantha Hazelwonder also attended the National FFA Convention with the State FFA Officer team. She had the incredible opportunity to spend a week at a convention where she was on the convention floor and in action during the way.
What an excellent opportunity for Samantha to get to experience. Central A&M’s delegates, Izzy Martin, Brookelyn Jackson, Sean Myers, Avery Smith, Kenzie White, Avery Canaday, Ashlyn Hunter, Laynee Dunakey, Myleigh Sieben, Briston Sims, and Adyson Lowrance began their trip on Wednesday, November 1st. We could tour Tuttle Orchard and Ozark Fisheries during the journey, which were both great experiences.
In the evenings, members had a chance to relax, have fun, and make many memories. Members attended the National FFA Rodeo on Wednesday evening at the Indiana State Fairgrounds! On Thursday evening, we grabbed some dinner and headed to do some indoor go-karting. On Friday evening, we enjoyed a nice sit-down meal together and some famous in downtown Indy, duckpin bowling.
In between sessions, members had the opportunity to attend one of the largest career shows and talk to numerous agriculture company representatives and college representatives. This is an excellent way for members to network and connect with those who may have a hand in their future. Members were also able to do some shopping at the FFA Shopping Mall!
A highlight of our convention was seeing Spencer Uphoff receive his American FFA Degree. This is the highest degree bestowed upon a member. We are proud of the hard work and dedication needed to obtain this degree. All in all, members had a great trip, full of many lifelong memories and lessons. We are so thankful for a supportive administration and school board allowing us to attend this convention yearly.
