TAYLORVILLE – Kim Bourne, who has served as president and CEO of Taylorville Memorial Hospital since 2015, has announced plans to retire on Jan. 9.
Bourne, a Christian County native, oversaw a period of growth for TMH, including construction of a modernized hospital facility that was completed in 2021. Under her leadership, TMH has earned several state and national honors for excellence in patient care, including elite four-star ratings from the National Rural Ratings System and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
“Kim is a visionary, inspiring leader, but more importantly, she understands the crucial role that a hospital like TMH plays in the community,” said Dolan Dalpoas, senior vice president and chief community impact and philanthropy officer at Memorial Health. “During her time as CEO, she made sure that TMH remained focused on what’s truly important: meeting the needs of the people of Christian County.”
Bourne began her career at Springfield Memorial Hospital in 1989 and held leadership roles with food and nutrition, patient transport and patient safety before being named president and CEO of TMH. In 2011, she received the Woody Hester Legacy of Leadership Award, which recognizes Memorial Health leaders for exemplary vision, guidance and embodiment of Memorial’s values.
A registered dietitian, she earned a bachelor of science degree in dietetics from Western Illinois University and a master of science degree in dietetics from Eastern Illinois University. Bourne serves on the board of the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network.
“Having grown up in Christian County, I’ve been honored to play a role in our efforts to improve our community’s health and provide excellent, compassionate care,” Bourne said. “Our leadership team at TMH is strong, and the hospital is performing well in all areas. I know TMH will be in good hands.”
