STONINGTON — Two grain cars loaded with corn on a siding of the Norfolk Southern main line in Stonington toppled over sometime Sunday evening according to reports. The toppled cars posed no threat to rail traffic on the main line and the corn spilled over into a baseball field just north of the tracks. There was no one reported injured. Crews from Norfolk Southern were on the scene and employees of the grain elevator were beginning to clean up the corn on Monday morning, Dec. 22. There was no word from either railway or elevator officials on what may have caused the accident.
