CHRISTIAN COUNTY — Lt. Deputy Stefanie Ryan has retired after her remarkable dedication and service to Christian County over the past three decades. Her distinguished career began on November 15, 1994, when she joined the the Christian County Sheriff’s Department as a Telecommunicator, playing a vital role in the safety and coordination of first responders.
On January 1, 1997, she advanced to the position of Correctional Officer, where she served with professionalism and care, ensuring the safety and security of both staff and inmates. Just two years later, on January 5, 1999, she achieved a major milestone in her career by becoming a Deputy Sheriff — a role in which she served with honor, dedication, and impact.
Lt. Deputy Ryan took on multiple key responsibilities, including serving as a D.A.R.E. Officer, where she educated and mentored youth, building positive relationships between law enforcement and the community. Her leadership and commitment led her to rise through the ranks, ultimately becoming a Lieutenant — a position in which she continued to lead with integrity and earned the respect of colleagues and the community alike.
After more than 30 years of service, Lt. Deputy Ryan officially retired on May 2, 2025. Her legacy is one of loyalty, strength, and heartfelt service to others.
